What: Zee TV formally announces Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs nine finalists
Where: ITC Grand Central, Lower Parel, Mumbai
When: January 3, 2008
It happened recently on the sets of Zee TV’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs International. Sonu Nigam’s idol since he was a child - actor Aamir Khan affectionately autographed a diary Sonu had carefully cultivated through the years, capturing hundreds of pictures of the superstar.
On Cloud Nine as it were, Nigam told Khan that he has watched all his films, read every interview on him and dreamt of enjoying a female fan following like his. Touched by this, and seeing the diary, Khan commented, “Sonu, in fact, I am a huge fan of yours and admire your versatility. And if as a teenager, you fantasized of having a female fan following like mine, you have most certainly lived out your dream”
Khan was proven right not long after, when Aditya Narayan told Nigam that the team at Li’l Champs has been inundated with fan mail for him. One Sonu-fanatic from Dubai, Salma, wrote in to tell the singer/actor that she has a collection of pictures of all his hairstyles ever since he began his journey of fame as the charming host of Sa Re Ga Ma.
Guess more than one wish of Nigam’s has come true.
