Everyone knows that the newest way to gain recognition in the film world is to create a controversy right? So who’s in the limelight these days, trying to do so? None other than Neha Dhupia.
The repercussions weren’t bad enough for Richard Gere and Shilpa Shetty, to teach you anything Neha? Apparently not as this most recent stunt was more dramatic and it was also with a man named Richard, but not Gere.
The story goes that actress Neha Dhupia was shooting for the Channel V film Apna Style Zara Hatke. Virgin Atlantic’s Richard Branson was in Mumbai for the launch of his telecom service in association with Tata and visited the sets of the film.
Dhupia, pretty in red, was finishing a shoot. Richard then came on stage and kissed her right on her lips, gave her a tight hug and then lifted her and turned her upside down.
Supposedly, Dhupia had no clue as to what was happening.
Since her career in Bollywood has not yet taken off, this could be a publicity stunt intended to bring Dhupia into the limelight, while promoting the film at the same time.
Let’s see what the authorities have to say about this stunt and what the consequences will be this time.

Bobby Deol and Priyanka Chopra will be welcoming Danny Denzongpa as part of Chamku where he will play a pivotal role as the character Baba. We’re told, as a teacher, Baba transforms Bobby’s character and makes him a tough guy and explains the meaning of life to him.
He has just started shooting for the film this past Monday. Denzongpa will be sporting a long beard for the sadhu look.
Filming four projects at Film City, it is also believed that Denzongpa has been signed by Neeraj Pathak for The Man starring Shilpa Shetty. For this film, he will be working under another Deol - Sunny, who is not only the co-producer but the director of the film.
After ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ , Shilpa Shetty caught the imagination of the British public once again this week, when she stuck a chord with them through the grand finale of her musical ‘Miss Bollywood’ in London.
Having toured a total of 16 European cities across Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and UK in the last two-and-a-half months, Shilpa returned to London to perform the final act at the Royal Albert Hall.
The dusky beauty mesmerized the English audience with a scintillating performance, while the audiences cheered her repeatedly. “The success of the grand finale at the hallowed Royal Albert Hall is indeed an emotional and historic moment for Shilpa,” said her publicist Dale Bhagwagar.
“She was received in a packed house with thunderous applause as she enthralled the audience with her high-energy pulse-racing performance, virtually mesmerizing people, who couldn’t stop whistling, clapping and even dancing in the crowd, as if it was a rock concert,” he added.
“The house was so packed that the organizers had to give out additional tickets for the top floor which had no seats. Many watched the whole show standing from there and still went home with huge smiles on their faces. It couldn’t have got bigger than this,” Bhagwagar commented.
“Shilpa is still recovering from this really wonderful feeling which will go down in her family history as yet another proud moment in this God-gifted year,” the publicist added.
The musical is set against the backdrop of London as the city prepares for the 2012 Olympics. It follows the story of ‘Maya’ (performed by Shilpa Shetty), a classically trained dancer and choreographer, who arrives from India to set up a dance academy in a soon-to-be-demolished East London building. Maya soon finds herself thrust into the limelight, where she must either sink or swim. Her trials and tribulations include the unwanted attentions of a famous but predatory choreographer.
‘Miss Bollywood’ combines traditional Indian music with riveting dance sequences that could be entered in the Olympics themselves. It showcases an amalgamation of dance forms taken from the east and west of India, with Shilpa re-capturing on stage some of Bollywood’s greatest hits over the past 40 years.

Those fans who thought ringing Shilpa Shetty was a good idea won’t be hearing her voice on the line when they call. After being inundated with hundreds of calls and SMS messages, Shetty has ceased using that number for her mobile.
The actress has also filed a complaint with the authorities against the original fan, Jeetu Sethi who obtained her private number and publicized it through a mass email. Dale Bhagwagar, Shetty’s publicist said, “Such mischief is damaging and Shilpa is not the kind of person to take it lying down.”
“If convicted, the fan could be facing a six-month jail term for harassment and illegally using the Internet to publicize a private phone number,” said Mumbai police officer Sushil Joshi.
Shetty is currently in Britain performing a musical titled Miss Bollywood.
