Akshay Kumar and boxer Vijender Singh met kids from NGO Make-a-wish foundation and distributed gifts which they had wished for. Akshay and Vijender also played a friendly boxing game to entertain the kids.

Previously it was thought that Bollywood baadshah Shahrukh Khan would not be making an appearance at the Zine Cine Awards 2008. However, it is now learned that he actually will be there to perform.

Other actors from tinseltown will be Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif Vidya Balan, Shahid Kapur, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. This should prove to be an interesting mix.

Hosting the show will be Karan Johar and Lara Dutta along with Sajid Khan.

The son of legendary filmmaker and one of the pioneers of Indian cinema Mehboob Khan, Ayub Memboob Khan, died Friday at his Bandra house in north-west Mumbai. He was a trustee of the Mehboob Studio at Bandra, founded by Mehboob Khan in late 1940s.

His father made the path-breaking films Mother India and Aurat. His last film as a director was Son of India (1962). He died two years later at the age of 57.

Mehboob was also the adopted father of Sajid Khan, who had appeared in his last two films Mother India where he played the younger version of the character played by Sunil Dutt and Son of India. He was also cast as Raji in Maya (1966), the film which became a television series (1967-1968) where he played opposite Jay North (Dennis the Menace).

Ayub himself had no interest in movies and preferred to keep himself away from the film industry.

Congratulations are in order for Farah Khan and her husband Shirish Kunder as they became first time parents today of triplets, two girls and one boy. The choreographer turned filmmaker became a proud momma early Monday morning accompanied by her husband Shirish and brother Sajid Khan.

Khan had planned to give birth through a C-section today (Monday, Feb. 11) as the date is suppose to be astrologically good.

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri are expected at the hospital later in the day, when they return from the Berlin Film Festival. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala has been to visit and shower his congratulations. Karan Johar is currently in the US but is expected back before the end of the week.

Mrs Madhvi Awasthi was crowned the new Gladrags Mrs India 2007 at the grand finale of the Bombay Dyeing Gladrags Mrs India Contest 2007. They were adjudged winners by Mrs Jimmy Nanda Bombay Dyeing Gladrags Mrs India 2007 along with Judge Mrs Maureen Wadia. The judges of the contest were Mrs Maureen Wadia, National award winner Shabana Azmi, John Abraham, Malaika Arora Khan, Mahima Chaudhry, Mehul Choksi, Mr S K Gupta, Dr Amardas Gupta and Director of Botox Rajiv Nagi. The evening was hosted by funny man Sajid Khan. The winners will represent India against 75 countries at Mrs Globe contest in Las Vegas, California and Mrs Universe in Bulgaria.
