Mumbai’s foodies and celebs got together at the Times Food Awards 2008 to salute chefs, restaurateurs and bartenders.

Our Oscars of Food Awards’ the Times Food and Nightlife Awards 2008-09, was held at the ITC Grand Central in Parel. And that’s where the stars descended Sunday evening. To give away awards; to sample the exotic dinner laid out by 30 of Mumbai’s best restaurants; to perhaps wine and dance; and, to come close to the real stars of the culinary world Mumbai’s celeb chefs, wicked bartenders and flamboyant restaurateurs, the people being honoured by The Times of India for making life a celebration of the tastebuds.

B-Town’s IT couple was undoubtedly the biggest draw at the Delhi Marathon and Saif-Kareena made sure they reveled in all the attention - of each other’s, that is! A love-struck Saifu was seen canoodling Kareena and she, too, played the devoted darling. The Tashan actress kept sipping water from her beau’s bottle even after she was offered a separate one. Guys, we know you are too much into each other but there’s a world beyond too.

Kareena Kapoor is a professional when it comes to work. The beautiful lady shot for a song in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Golmaal Returns’ despite high temperature.

The song, cheekily called ‘Meow’ (and currently on air), features her in a complete catty look! Kareena had 104 temperature but regardless of this fact the sultry siren shot for the song choreographed by Bosco-Ceasar in Mehboob Studios recently.

They haven’t shared space on the big screen but Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor will finally share screen space together on television. The siblings will feature together in an episode of Star Plus’ ‘Nach Baliye 4′ on which Karisma is one of the judges alongside Arjun Rampal and Farah Khan.

Kareena is likely to shoot for the episode in Mumbai on Monday 20th October. She will be the celebrity guest representing the entire cast of her forthcoming comedy, ‘Golmaal Returns’. It is believed that Kareena may even dance to the chartbusting ‘Tu Saala Kaam Se Gaya’ track from ‘Golmaal Returns’ and Karisma may shake a leg with her.

The episode is slated to air on October 24, days before the theatrical release of ‘Golmaal Returns’.

It is learnt that when Kareena was informed about the plan, she was thrilled and agreed without even a moment’s hesitation. She maintains that she had a blast shooting for ‘Golmaal Returns’ and wants all her fans and the audience to have a blast watching the keenly anticipated comic caper this Diwali!

It is an Indian Films - Studio 18 worldwide release.

It was revealed that Kareena Kapoor’s character in Golmaal Returns is called Ekta, and not surprisingly, she plays a fan of saas-bahu serials!

Now Kareena has taken her fondness for Ekta to the next level by deciding to hold a special screening for the television czarina next week once the prints are out. Ekta is also said to be keen to have the director of Golmaal Returns, Rohit Shetty, direct the much-awaited sequel of Kya Kool Hain Hum.

Golmaal Returns was cleared on Friday by the Indian censors with a ‘U’ certificate and no cuts.

Kareena’s special screening will be attended by her friends Lovely Singh (who gave her It’s Rocking), sister Karisma Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, among others.

Golmaal Returns is out in cinemas on Wednesday 29th October. It is an Indian Films - Studio 18 worldwide release.

If not in real life, Kareena Kapoor is all set to play an Ekta Kapoor fan in reel life!

So much so that her character in the forthcoming comedy, Golmaal Returns, is actually called Ekta!

Kareena plays a young wife heavily inspired by Ekta’s ‘K’ serials and is always accusing her husband (played by Ajay Devgan) of adultery.

Laughs Tusshar Kapoor, “Bebo plays a housewife who is heavily inspired by the saas-bahu serials. She is able to draw a parallel between her husband’s infidelity with specific instances of infidelity from some of the TV serials. It’s hilarious!”

When we asked Ekta Kapoor herself to comment on Kareena’s character being a Balaji soap fan, the former smiled, “That’s flattering! Long live the saas-es and bahus!”

It’s heartening to see actors taking a personal interest in the well-being and promotion of their films….. Kareena Kapoor is surely going down the illustrious Aamir Khan route in ensuring that Golmaal Returns, her first release after Jab We Met, does not fall short of creating the magic it promises to create at the Diwali box office.

According to industry sources, even while shooting for Kambakth Ishq in Venice with Akshay Kumar, Kareena was in regular touch with the film’s producers on the promotion of Golmaal Returns, which, in her opinion, is an out-and-out commercial family entertainer.

In fact, Kareena was very keen to have Pritam (her Jab We Met music director) compose the score of Golmaal Returns, which she voiced to the producers at the very outset. She even took an incredible amount of interest in listening to the songs after their recording and voicing her opinion. The result was a chartbusting soundtrack, including her Tu Saala Kaam Se Gaya number, which has become an overnight hit.

Upon her return to Mumbai from Venice on the 15th of the month, Kareena is said to have made herself available for the publicity of Golmaal Returns.

We’re confident that her passion and sincerity will pay off when this keenly anticipated mega-comedy hits the cinemas on Wednesday, 29th October.

Previously it was thought that Bollywood baadshah Shahrukh Khan would not be making an appearance at the Zine Cine Awards 2008. However, it is now learned that he actually will be there to perform.

Other actors from tinseltown will be Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif Vidya Balan, Shahid Kapur, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. This should prove to be an interesting mix.

Hosting the show will be Karan Johar and Lara Dutta along with Sajid Khan.

Believe it or not, Irrfan Khan will be the leading man of a comedy film to be produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment as well as starring SRK but not in the lead role.

Shah Rukh Khan is teaming up with director Priyadarshan for Billoo Barber. The film tells the story of a friendship between a rich actor (SRK) and a poor barber (Irrfan). Thick friends in childhood, they find when they meet again years later, they are at different places in life.

The story is derived from Hindu mythology’s legend of Krishna and Sudama. Author Mushtaq Sheikh has written the screenplay along with Manisha Korde.

Billoo Barber’s leading ladies are yet to be finalized but the latest buzz suggests that Kareena Kapoor might play the role opposite SRK.
