Deepika Padukone acted maturely and accepted the remuneration cheque worth Rs 40 lakhs sent by Shah Rukh Khan for doing an item song in his upcoming film Billu Barber. This comes to attain a lot of significance as Kareena Kapoor & Priyanka Chopra have done their item songs in the same film for free. Well, Deepika Padukone has done her debut film Om Shanti Om for free opposite Baadshah Khan. And we guess that she felt it would definitely suffice if there is any obligation of gratitude… towards Shah Rukh for giving her a huge platform for her debut… isn’t it?

Deepika Padukone needs no introduction for she is the girl par excellence who debuted in the smash hit flick Om Shanti Om, opposite none other than the Shah Rukh Khan himself. After blockbuster Om Shanti Om, Deepika was seen alongside boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor in Bachna Ae Haseeno and despite being pitted against two haseenas, Deepika managed to stand her own.

Now Deepika, who has been the face of countless brands, graces the cover of fashion and lifestyle magazine in December. While she is lending her pretty face to the latest edition of the famous lifestyle magazine ‘The Man’. She sizzles in bikini for the cover shoot of ‘The Man’ magazine.

In ‘The Man’, Deepika speaks about how she manages to stay fit despite such a hectic schedule (a must read for all the wannabe Deepikas). Not just that, she also shares some of her beauty tips with the readers (again, a must read for all the wanna be Deepikas). Besides all of this, she gives teh readers the actual reasons for her to be associated with a million brands that she is endorsing. Needless to say, that, this again, is a must read for all the wanna be Deepikas.

The star studded Hakim Aalim’s second hair salon opening saw the likes of Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgan, Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Zayed Khan, Sunil Shetty, Tusshar Kapoor, Muzammil Ibrahim, Aftab Shivdasani, Manish Malhotra, Aditya Pancholi, Mana Shetty, Divya Dutta, Abbas Burmawalla, Mustan Burmawalla, Javed Jaffrey, Ahmed Khan, Ravi Kishan, Rahul Dev, Sulaiman Merchant, Shabbir Ahluwalia, Raza Murad, Alvira Agnihotri Khan, Atul Agnihotri, Meeta Vasisht dropping in to wish Aalim luck.

Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni also sent in their good wishes as they couldn’t make it for the launch.

All the guests were personally escorted by Aalim who took them through the entire salon. Finally, the entire team celebrated the launch of the new salon with Aalim cutting a cake!

Well, this evening surely had a glittering touch !

Looks like Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone can’t hide their love for each anymore. And why should they after all. The adorable friends turned lovers let the world know under no uncertain terms at the 53rd Annual Filmfare Awards ceremony.

It was obvious how very much in love they are when backstage Ranbir was overheard telling Deepika, “I love you.” Deepika then shyly whispered back “I love you too.”

Farah Ali Khan’s party after the ceremony saw the two lovebird holding hands and kissing throughout the night as they stuck very closely to each other.

So much for Ranbir’s comment on the question of their relationship earlier this month, where he claimed that his relationship with Deepika was nothing more than platonic.

Although not officially confirmed by either debutant director Prem Soni or producer Sohail Khan, the buzz is that Sohail’s brother, actor Salman has called some of his long-time friends (and even those with whom he has buried the hatchet) to appear with him in Sohail’s next film – Main Aur Mrs Khanna. Who are the chosen ones? The envelope please … None other than Shahrukh Khan, Preity Zinta, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone.

Salman and Shahrukh have been in several films before, though it has been some time. They played brothers in Karan Arjun (1995), rivals over Kajol in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) and with Madhuri in Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam (2002).

Preity is also a close family friend and is a regular at the Khan household. She and Salman have worked opposite one another in Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega (2000), actually Shahrukh made a guest appearance here too, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke (2001) Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha (2004), Jaane-E-Mann (2006) and guest appearances in Shahrukh’s home production Om Shanti Om last year. They will also be acting opposite each other once again, along with Sohail in Samir Karnik’s Heroes.

Being impressed with Deepika’s onscreen presence, Salman suggested her name to Sohail and Prem when they began the casting process.

Main Aur Mrs Khanna will go on the floors in March of this year. Kareena Kapoor plays Mrs. Khanna in the film and UTV Motion Pictures are the co-producers for the film.
