Critically acclaimed John Abraham (Baabul, Kabul Express, Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute to Love) is Bollywood’s first actor to crack the West without playing an exotic character or an NRI. Instead, he will be taking on a full-fledged role opposite Rachel Weisz the Hollywood actress (The Mummy, Constantine and Constant Gardner), who won the 2006 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Constant Gardner, in Deepa Mehta’s new film Luna. Weisz will essay the main character/protagonist Luna.

Ranbir Kapoor will soon be seen in a real life drama based on an Indo-Pak relationship, which is tentatively titled Dosti. It is about how Moin Khan (who sold his story to the producers) an Indian boy puts his life at stake to help his friend who is a Pakistani boy.

London is all abuzz and excited to be welcoming back the Zee Cine Awards. This annual event is held in various cities around the world and is returning to London for 2008. The last time it was hosted there was three years ago. The 2005 event proved to be a huge success.

The judging panel for the new reality show on 9X, the new general entertainment channel in India, will be of the Bollywood kind. The show is called Chak De Bachche and it’s a talent show for kids between the ages of 8 and 14. Its judges will be actress Raveena Tandon, music director duo Salim-Suleiman and choreographer Ganesh Acharya.
