It seems Sajay and Manyata’s marriage was short lived, well at least the first one. The problem arose when their registered marriage of February 7 which took place in Goa brought doubts over how Manyata obtained a residence certificate in Goa. Officials said that Manyata had to provide any valid proof that she has been staying at the shown Goa address. In view of this, Dutt withdrew his marriage declaration before the South Goa Sub Registrar. The two were then remarried in Mumbai with full Hindu rites on February 11.
Now, another issue looms over them. A petition filed by Mohammed Mehraj two weeks ago challenges the validity of their marriage, claiming that he (Mehraj) had married Manyata in 2003 and there has been no formal divorce, besides the fact that they supposedly have a two-and-a-half-year-old son together. He alleged that although he and Manyata have been living separately, neither of them have sought talak or divorce.
So who knows what will transpire from here. Watch and stay tuned here for the latest news on it.
