The silver screen will be sizzling once again with the amazing jodi of Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia in Zoya Akhtar’s debut film Luck By Chance. The senior pair made young hearts everywhere go dhak-dhak after starring opposite one another in Raj Kapoor’s film Bobby (1973). In 1985 they were paired once again in Ramesh Sippy’s Saagar. Then, 2006 saw them together in Hriday Shetty’s Pyaar Mein Twist.

Although not officially confirmed by either debutant director Prem Soni or producer Sohail Khan, the buzz is that Sohail’s brother, actor Salman has called some of his long-time friends (and even those with whom he has buried the hatchet) to appear with him in Sohail’s next film - Main Aur Mrs Khanna. Who are the chosen ones? The envelope please … None other than Shahrukh Khan, Preity Zinta, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone.

The master of cliché Raj Kumar Santoshi makes a valiant effort to break out from the masala mode and all but falls flat on his face. My eternal complaint to Bollywood regarding good and original stories remains firmly in place. Here, our man, cashes in on the Jessica Lal episode and has tried to interpolate it with the tragic saga of Safdar Hashmi. Even the name of the movie has been inspired (groan) by the play being enacted by Hashmi when he was murdered.

Aamir Khan’s directorial super-hit Taare Zameen Par is on its way to sweep Shah Rukh Khan’s film Om Shanti Om right out of the way as it goes speeding past in sales. Although TZP box office sales did go down in the third week, they began soaring once again in the fourth.

John Abraham and Tanishaa will both be running for a good cause on January 20th as part of the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2008. Tanishaa will will run for the NGO called ‘Light of My Life’, which helps rural, destitute street children live a normal fulfilling life.
