The name of the movie is derived from the famous song My Name is Anthony Gonsalves in the 1977 hit movie Amar Akbar Anthony.

Anthony Gonsalves is an ordinary guy with an extra-ordinary dream - to become an actor. Anthony works as a bartender in Jimmy’s Pub in Bandra, Mumbai. His job is to run the joint smoothly, while the bosses concentrate on their own work of specialization; the pub being a legitimate front for their illegal activities.

The film is essentially the story about the friendship between two diametrically opposite characters Anthony and Sikander Bhai, with an array of interesting characters thrown into the mix.

Friendship, loyalty, love, career, truth, morality, all come into play, as Anthony has to choose between Sikander Bhai, and his dream to become an actor.

Mithun Chraborthy plays Father Braganza, a man of God and Anthony’s moral compass. Anupam Kher essays Murtuza Seth, an underworld don contemplating retirement. Pavan Malhotra plays Sikander, a man torn between his loyalties towards Murtuza Seth and his affection for Anthony.

Mukesh Tiwari is the hotheaded Maqsood. Dayashanker Pandey takes on the role of the conniving Riyaaz. Lillete Dubey plays Ms. Bharucha. Pakistani actor, Javed Sheikh plays a suave police officer Inspector Khan, investigating the murder of a dead colleague. D. Santosh is Michael, a small time hustler and Anthony’s childhood friend.
