What do a thief from Bombay, a rapper “Don”, a Thai Sardar and a massage girl from Bangkok all have in common? They are all characters in “a film that is the same but different”, which Mukta Searchlight Films calls Bombay To Bangkok. It is touted as having comedy, suspense, action, emotions, romance and dance all rolled into one. What more could you ask for in a Bollywood film?
The crux of this story? Shankar is a petty thief, in desperate need of money. He steals from the local Don and escapes with a team of doctors heading for Bangkok to engage in relief work. In the ensuing chaos he loses his bag of stolen money.
In Bangkok, his world turns upside down at a bar where he bumps into lovely Jasmine. The only problem is that she is Thai and he can’t converse with her on any level, or so he thinks. A ray of hope comes his way the next day when Jasmine turns up in desperate need of a doctor! Shankar poses as a doctor along with his Sardar buddy Rachinder Singh (Rash). Jasmine soon gets pulled into his bumbling adventures while running away from the Don and his henchmen. This hilarious comedy of errors will have you in stitches following Shankar as he discovers love and life on a rollercoaster ride from Bombay to Bangkok.
The release date for Bombay To Bangkok is January 11, 2008.
