Forget waiting for the marriage ritual of searching for his name amidst Kareena Kapoor’s mehndi design, which is only temporary, lasting about two to four weeks and is pain free. Instead, lover boy Saif Ali Khan has gone and had Bebo’s name inked indelibly in Devanagari script (ancient Indian language) on his left forearm (inspired by footballer David Beckham). The process, which is usually painful, required Khan to sit for two three-hour sessions Thursday at Hakim’s Alim in Bandra for the tattoo.
If this labor of love doesn’t convince Bebo that he is serious about making her his life partner, we don’t know what will. After all, neither Khan’s former wife Amrita Singh nor Italian girlfriend Rozza (Rosy) Catalino were privileged to see their names permanently engraved on Khan’s arm.
Khan is definitely looking at marriage for the two. We recently reported him as saying that he is “extremely and completely committed” to Kapoor and wants to spend the rest of his life with her.
Now that we have an informal commitment maybe the formal announcement will just be a matter of time. According to Indian tradition, if the husband can’t find his name in the mehndi, then they believe it’s not the right match. However in Bebo’s case, she shouldn’t have any problem finding her name on Saif, so only time will tell if they are well-matched or not.
Khan and Kapoor left on Friday for Greece to enjoy a few days of fun and frolic before the remaining cast and crew members arrive for the continued shooting schedule of Tashan.
Tashan also stars Akshay Kumar and Anil Kapoor. Vijay Krishna Acharya has donned the director’s cape for the film, while it is produced by Yash and Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner. It is scheduled for a April 25, 2008 release.
