The love triangle king, filmmaker Lawrence D’Souza is back, this time to recreate his super-hit Saajan (1991). The original film starred Sanjay Dutt, Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit. This time around it is said to be Shahid Kapur, John Abraham and Kangana Ranaut.

D’Souza says he wants to recreate the magic of Saajan not remake the film or make a sequel to it. With writers Rajiv Kaul and Praful Parikh working on the script, it is supposed to be totally different, although still a love triangle. It will be shot entirely in Kashmir.

Nadeem-Shravan have been signed up to recreate the music of Saajan. It will be produced by Nissha Kreations, as opposed to the original, which was produced by Sudhakar Bokade.

The only other film Kapur and Abraham were in together was Shekhar (2005), where Abraham made a special appearance while Kapur played the role of Jaidev Vardhan. Neither of the actors have worked with Ranaut before.
