Aamir and Sha-K overwhelmed

Aamir Khan was visibly overwhelmed with the audience response to his directorial debut Taara Zameen Par during an recent interview. Callers to the TV station told him how much they loved and were affected by the film. This has helped TZP to take on a life of its own, as it has become quite a hit.

Music from the new film Welcome turned out to be a disappointment. I eagerly waited to hear the soundtrack that carries the names of musical directors Himesh Reshammiya and Anand Raj Anand. Of all the things that I expected, to be let down was not one of them. Maybe it has to do with my lack of enthusiasm for electronic sounds, or echoing voice effects. Maybe it is the unvarying beats in each of the songs that I found annoying.

Although the movie Aaja Nachle was hit hard by critics, the music from Madhuri Dixit’s come back film deserves to be heard. As I listened to the soundtrack myself, I was impressed by the excellent blend of rhythms from the north of India as well as touching love ballads featuring such artists as Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.From the first track, the movie’s title song, you will not be able to resist the invitation to come and dance. I found my shoulders moving to the irresistible and infectious beat of Show Me Your Jalwa. I always say that a smile can be heard and in the playful song Soniye Mil Ja, which begins with the voice of Madhuri herself, her smile comes across loud and clear.

Sonam and Abhishek Rush To Mumbai

Dilli 6 leads Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor have been experiencing a difficult time recently. Both had to rush from shooting in Jaipur to Mumbai to be with their families after the passing of their grandparents, Abhishek’s paternal grandmother and Sonam’s maternal grandfather. Both being professional actors, they have since flown back to Jaipur to resume shooting.

Adlabs Cinemas Opens Second Cinema in Meerut

Meerut, 21st December 2007… Adlabs Cinemas, part of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group and India’s leading entertainment conglomerate Adlabs Films, has opened its second cinema in Meerut, further consolidating its presence in the north. Adlabs Cinemas is the largest cinemas chain in India and presently has 115 screens spread over 33 properties nationwide.

Adlabs already has one cinema in Meerut since June 2006. The new cinema is one of the properties formerly owned by Rave Entertainment, whose cinemas had been acquired by Adlabs in May 2007.

Amitabh Bachchan’s mother passes away

It is a sad day not only in Bollywood but for all who knew actor Amitabh Bachchan’s 93-year-old mother Teji Bachchan. She passed away on Friday after prolonged illness. In Lilavati Hospital for almost this entire year, she was suddenly shifted to the intensive care unit on November 7th when her condition worsened.
