Bipasha Basu

Vivek Agnihotri has tried unsuccessfully to cast Bipasha Basu in two other films of his, namely, Sikander and Chocolate (both thrillers). He called her for both but each time she was busy shooting for other films.

When it came time to do the casting for Goal, he wanted Bips, but assumed that given the length and duration of the role, she wouldn’t be available or interested, so he didn’t call. That’s when Bips called him to say that she surely was interested.

“Bipasha is an ideal choice for the role of physiotherapist, but I was somehow hesitant to call her, given my past experience. When she heard about the script of Goal and my desire to include her in the film, she immediately called me to say that she would love to be part of the film,” laughs Vivek.

Bips might be playing a physiotherapist in the film, but it sounds like Vivek was playing the role of a psychotherapist here, nah? Whatever it was, it worked.
